Hey Everyone,
So
another exciting week in the 30k world here and forge world has left us
drooling and wanting more. We see a Realm of battle piece released as
well as a sneak peak of raven guard. For my luna wolves more progress
has been done with units being finished and other in progress. Let's get
to it and show off a few things.
Forge World Updates
The
Primus Redoubt is first up and I have to say this thing has left me
awestruck. Designed as the ultimate defense gun, this bunker is truly
designed to take a hit and throw it right back. With a destroyer weapon
as well as a shield, add in a crew that can’t be knocked out till you
kill everything in it and you have the ultimate defense. Hope to get one
down the road and show it off. Be sure to check out the rules here of
course athttp://www.forgeworld.co.uk/ Downloads/Product/PDF/p/ Primus_Redoubt.pdf
If you didn’t catch the forge world bulletin 54 on the weekend be sure to check it herehttp://www.forgeworld.co. uk/News/FORGE_WORLD_BULLETIN_ 54.html .
The main thing though is for the Sons of Corax, a unique Corvus Armor
set. This will be great for both 30k and 40k raven guard players and
makes me a little jealous as a luna wolves player. Can’t wait to see it
released and army pictures showing off these new armour sets.
Luna Wolves Updates
Forgot
to post this a while back but here is the main force of Rhinos and the
Whirlwinds. For me, having a good supply of Rhinos to move your force
will save your force from dying in the middle of nowhere.Though I got a
few, knowing me, there is going to be more coming up. One of the other
things I like about this photo is you can see 3 versions of the Basic
Rhino which really makes me happy as it adds a nice variety to the army.
The
other nice thing is the whirlwind battery in the back that just gives
the army a nice cheap artillery platform. With a great range and a small
points tag these units really shine against the hordes of orks and
other xenos. Already they have gotten a great reputation in the army for
supporting my armor assaults. Hope to get one last one to round them
out. Glad when these got done and can’t wait to get more tanks to run
down the lines.
First
up of the new painted stuff is the Taratos Terminators and man do I
love the detail on them. Though mainly the way each joint and flex piece
is painted and the photos just don’t do them justice. Up close and
personal these guys shine and already are building a small legend for
the armour. Can’t wait to post some battle reports of these guys winning
the day for me!
The
contemptor also got finished in this batch and does it look sharp. A
nice little scare unit, this really shines when there's no armour
ceramite around and it's meltas are brought to bare. The other thing I
like about this is the pose which feels like its issuing a challenge to
the foes of the emperor who dare challenge him. Glad to see this done
and can’t wait to see it's brother be finished.
So
out of this batch I will have to say my favorite part was the
Justaerins where finished off. I can’t contain how much excitement there
was when I got them over the weekend and was also able to get the feel
of them out in a battle. To me each one speaks of a raw aggression that
seems to be brutal with spikes and the dark colour scheme which Rob was
able to beautifully create. Have to say this was my favorite part of
this batch and can’t wait to play with them more.
Insert
Ride of the Valkyries music on this roll call but the storm eagle is
taking shape. One of the largest kits I’ve seen compared to a lot of
standard marine kit this thing is a true beast. Rob has been expertly
putting this together and making sure it can take multiple weapon
outputs. Hoping this can get finished off before the weekend so I can
get some battle reports in and show off this angel of death.
Other news and musings
So
with the army making great progress we are slowly getting to the point
of field more battle reports. I know the first one was a bit raw but I
think I got a format idea down that will work well in the future. A I
said before I want to get this to be a staple of the blog so hope you
look forward to upcoming battle reports.
With that we closed
off another fun week and as always looking forward to more. Stay tuned
for your 30k center and, as always, have fun out there !

Signing off till next time
