Forgeworld Sneak Peaks !

Hey Everyone,
So this week just keeps on getting more and more exciting from forgeworld. I had to make sure I posted.

So as we get closer and closer to Calth, forge world did a teaser for the new transfer sheets for both the Word Bearers and the Ultramarines Legion. I think they are really starting to ramp up for what will be a epic show down between these two legions and I can’t wait to see what other unit exclusives they come up with.

We also have a sneak peek video of what's coming up in the book and we get a snap shot of a impressive looking model. A lot of buzz around the internet thinking this may be the fabled warlord class titan. If this is true we may be getting one of the biggest Imperial Titans that we could fit on the table. I can’t wait to see what this really becomes and when we get the final release date for this next book.
So stay tuned and keep watching for more 30k news.

Update 2015/4/13

Hey Everyone,
Got some fun and exciting stuff to show you. Forgeworld showed off another new mini for those who want to bring in some firepower for Mechanicum . Rob from Bearbox studio also showed me some progress on a Salamanders army he is starting up. Also we have more 14th Company pictures to show off.

Alright this has me leaning towards Mechanicum more and more. Weighing in a a whopping 295 pts this massive monstrous creature can dish out some firepower. Armed with the potent Sollex heavy lasscannon, this strength 10 lasscannon at range 60 gives another nice long range weapon for the Mechanicum. Lastly its armed with Graviton ram that is a potent siege wrecker and tank buster.
This might push me get a small Mechanicum force after the Luna wolves. The other reason other then the rules is just the visuals and reminds me of old gundam minis which I love. Would love to get it and do a nice red and black scheme. Any how enough rambling be sure to check out the experimental rules as always athttp://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/t/Thanatar-Calix.pdf

So Rob from Bearbox studio has just started up his Salamander army and is coming out strong with Vulkan. These in-progress pictures  are showing a nice strong Vulkan and a nice progress shot. Really love how it looks as a calm but wrathful father over his dead sons. I can’t wait to see when this is complete and running with the other Salamanders.

The 14th Company
My Luna Wolves have made some amazing progress and am still surprised how much has gotten done in the last few months. This batch added abit more Vehicle in nature as well as some air support. The other part is my command staff expands with my company captain. So lets get to the army pictures.

The storm eagle is complete and man was I excited for this. Probably one of my favorite aircraft that has ever come out. This roaring beauty is, in my eyes, what a space marine aircraft should be. Armed to the teeth, Rob used magnets on the front and the sponsons so I can get a few different weapon load-outs. I will also say this storm eagle has not let me down and already has a shadow sword down and I can’t wait to get some battle reports in with this multi-role craft.

So my module Contemptor is finally done and have to say the wait was well worth it. Love how the pose turned out and gives it that nice dramatic feel as it gets ready for another go of combat.

The other benefit of this Contemptor is the magnets in each arm so I can change the weapon load-outs. Right now It can be fielded as either a mortis pattern with the assault cannons or auto cannons, it can also be used as a standard contemptor in a talon if I feel I need some close combat.

The other thing I like about it is the pose it has with the other Centomptor which makes them both a great pair.
One of the last major pieces to be done is the Captain. I have to say this really feels like the Old Terran Veteran that I want to base the lore around him. He was done as a pair just in case I wanted to run one of two versions of the Praetor and this will fill out the roster well. I can’t wait to get him on the table and starting building up the legend of this captain.

This the entire company as it stands right now painted. I have to say it always feels great seeing this all on the table and at best guess is sitting about around 4000 points depending on kit. Added some extra pictures of some close ups.

With the army standing as it is there got a good selection for the army list. Be sure to stay tuned for more army progress and some up coming battle reports.

Updates 4/7/2015

Hey Everyone,
So another exciting week in the 30k world here and forge world has left us drooling and wanting more. We see a Realm of battle piece released as well as a sneak peak of raven guard. For my luna wolves more progress has been done with units being finished and other in progress. Let's get to it and show off a few things.
Forge World Updates
The Primus Redoubt is first up and I have to say this thing has left me awestruck. Designed as the ultimate defense gun, this bunker is truly designed to take a hit and throw it right back. With a destroyer weapon as well as a shield, add in a crew that can’t be knocked out till you kill everything in it and you have the ultimate defense. Hope to get one down the road and show it off. Be sure to check out the rules here of course athttp://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/p/Primus_Redoubt.pdf

If you didn’t catch the forge world bulletin 54 on the weekend be sure to check it herehttp://www.forgeworld.co.uk/News/FORGE_WORLD_BULLETIN_54.html . The main thing though is for the Sons of Corax, a unique Corvus Armor set. This will be great for both 30k and 40k raven guard players and makes me a little jealous as a luna wolves player. Can’t wait to see it released and army pictures showing off these new armour sets.

Luna Wolves Updates

Forgot to post this a while back but here is the main force of Rhinos and the Whirlwinds. For me, having a good supply of Rhinos to move your force will save your force from dying in the middle of nowhere.Though I got a few, knowing me, there is going to be more coming up. One of the other things I like about this photo is you can see 3 versions of the Basic Rhino which really makes me happy as it adds a nice variety to the army.
The other nice thing is the whirlwind battery in the back that just gives the army a nice cheap artillery platform. With a great range and a small points tag these units really shine against the hordes of orks and other xenos. Already they have gotten a great reputation in the army for supporting my armor assaults. Hope to get one last one to round them out.  Glad when these got done and can’t wait to get more tanks to run down the lines.

First up of the new painted stuff is the Taratos Terminators and man do I love the detail on them. Though mainly the way each joint and flex piece is painted and the photos just don’t do them justice. Up close and personal these guys shine and already are building a small legend for the armour. Can’t wait to post some battle reports of these guys winning the day for me!

The contemptor also got finished in this batch and does it look sharp. A nice little scare unit, this really shines when there's no armour ceramite around and it's meltas are brought to bare. The other thing I like about this is the pose which feels like its issuing a challenge to the foes of the emperor who dare challenge him. Glad to see this done and can’t wait to see it's brother be finished.

So out of this batch I will have to say my favorite part was the Justaerins where finished off. I can’t contain how much excitement there was when I got them over the weekend and was also able to get the feel of them out in a battle. To me each one speaks of a raw aggression that seems to be brutal with spikes and the dark colour scheme which Rob was able to beautifully create. Have to say this was my favorite part of this batch and can’t wait to play with them more.

Insert Ride of the Valkyries music on this roll call but the storm eagle is taking shape. One of the largest kits I’ve seen compared to a lot of standard marine kit this thing is a true beast. Rob has been expertly putting this together and making sure it can take multiple weapon outputs. Hoping this can get finished off before the weekend so I can get some battle reports in and show off this angel of death.

Other news and musings
So with the army making great progress we are slowly getting to the point of field more battle reports. I know the first one was a bit raw but I think I got a format idea down that will work well in the future. A I said before I want to get this to be a staple of the blog so hope you look forward to upcoming battle reports.
With that we closed off another fun week and as always looking forward to more. Stay tuned for your 30k center and, as always, have fun out there !
